Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis got a Valentine’s card from her ex-boyfriend, architect Jack Warnecke, in the latter months of her life. He told her that the former first lady was frequently on his mind.
Jackie died of non-Hodgkin lymphoma on May 19, 1994, at the age of 64, according to a new biography by J. Randy Taraborrelli titled Jackie: Public, Private, Secret, which was exclusively excerpted in this week’s issue. The note reportedly caused a reunion at her apartment few months before to her passing.

Untying the yarn, Jackie selected a letter from the stack. Before throwing it into the flames, she read it. There were letters from John and Caroline, Jackie’s children, he recalled. Additionally, there were letters from myself, Jack Bouvier, Aristotle Onassis, her father, Jack Bouvier, and Jack Kennedy. She held up one of the pictures and regarded it intently.
