A new album from Promise of the Real and Lukas Nelson is forthcoming. The album, A Few Stars Apart, will be released on June 11th through Fantasy Records. Dave Cobb produced the album, and the lead track, “Perennial Bloom (Back To You),” is currently available along with a lyric video.
The 11-track album was live-tracked on eight-track tape at Nashville’s famed RCA Studio A. While in lockdown with his family in Texas, Lukas wrote the songs. I come from what you could call the ultimate travelling family; I’ve travelled all my life, Nelson said.
“I’ve never been anyplace for more than three months, and now the four of us are all here at once. I am grateful that we were together. We haven’t spent that much time together as a family in a long time, as far as I can recall.
During that time, a lot of extremely significant bonding took place. And I have to admit, despite how awful the pandemic has been in many respects, I was able to draw a lot of positives from it for my inner calm. I had time to stop and think.
