Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the founder of Sikh For Justice (SFJ), is living or dead. The SFJ founder and a pro-Khalistan activist were reportedly murdered in a car accident in the US, according to rumours.
Sukhi Chahal, the founder, CEO, and editor-in-chief of the US-based The Khalsa Today, however, denied the reports of Pannu’s passing. Chahal claimed that the head of the SFJ was “alive”.
“I would like to highlight that the information on the claimed vehicle accident in my California neighbourhood and the passing of SFJ’s Gurpatwant Singh Pannun is fabricated and untrue. I kindly request that no one share his false information,” Chahal tweeted.
On July 1, 2020, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) was used by the Indian government to formally designate Gurpatwant Singh Pannun as a terrorist. Pannun became well-known for organising the Khalistan 2020 referendum in several Western countries.
He actively campaigned against India and attempted to enlist Sikh children from his home state of Punjab in his terrorist activities, showing a strong commitment to undermine India through his deeds. The Sikh community seeks Khalistan, a unique nation, and the SFJ is well-recognised for supporting it.
Reports state that Pannu is currently mentioned in 22 criminal cases, three of which involve sedition accusations in India. Pannu, a resident of the United States, hails from the Punjabi village of Khankot, which is part of the Amritsar district. He is acknowledged as one of the group’s founders, SFJ, which was founded in October 2007.
Recently, Amritpal Singh, a Khalistani separatist, also lost his main handler, Avtar Singh Khanda. But the precise cause of this death is still unknown. According to other stories, he passed away from food poisoning. His medical records indicated that he may have food poisoning.
Outrage in India was caused by a Khalistani billboard that claimed that India’s High Commissioner to Ottawa, Sanjay Kumar Verma, and Consul General to Toronto, Apoorva Srivastava, were the “killers” of Khalistan Tiger Force leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Nijjar, the leader of the pro-Khalistan organisations Khalistan Tiger Force and Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) Canada, was assassinated on June 18 in Surrey, Canada.
The posters were released a month after supporters of Khalistan displayed a tableau of the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi with blood on her clothes and a billboard that said, “Revenge of attack on Shri Darbar Sahib,” to commemorate the 39th anniversary of Operation Blue Star.
