After returning to the US from a trip to Bali, Indonesia, Rudy and Celeste Dominguez noticed that their daughter Valentina was missing her Beatrice doll. The doll was last seen on a flight to Tokyo, where the family’s flight had a layover.

Rudy told WFAA that they looked for the doll in every suitcase they carried. But when their efforts remained futile, the family urgently contacted the airport and airlines to find the doll. (Also Read: IndiGo passengers cheer as pilot announces mid-flight landing of Chandrayaan-3)

“Beatrice means a lot to me. She brings me happiness and is my best friend. When she wasn’t there, when we got settled in our hotel, I felt very bad. I felt like my heart was broken,” Valentina told Good morning America.

Later, when the family shared a social media post about the doll, American Airlines pilot James Danen spotted it and came to the rescue.

Danen contacted Turkish Airlines’ lost and found department at Haneda Airport in Tokyo and found the doll. Later, he even personally followed the doll around the world and delivered it to Valentina.

“That’s my nature. I like to help people… it’s just what I like to do. I was really glad to be able to do something nice for someone.” Danen told WFAA.

But the story does not end there. When Danen handed the doll over to Valentina, he also gave her some Japanese treats and a map that showed where the doll had traveled with him.

“There’s a lot of kindness in this world. He’s a kind man. He said he was going to do it and he kept going,” Rudy Dominguez said of the pilot to WFAA.
