X (formerly Twitter) recently launched a beta version of ‘Hiring’, a feature that aims to compete with professional networking sites like LinkedIn. This feature is exclusive to verified organizations and is set up to help them reach ‘millions of relevant candidates’. It comes with a monthly fee of $1,000 (approximately INR 82,300), reports CNBC.

On August 27, Elon Musk responded to a tweet from X user Ian Zelbo about LinkedIn. Zelbo tweeted: “Is there anything worse than LinkedIn?” The tweet went viral and caught the attention of many.

Elon Musk responded to this tweet and wrote: “Sometimes people send me LinkedIn links, but the level of creepiness is so high that I just can’t bring myself to use it, so I ask that they email me a resume or bio. We’ll make sure X’s LinkedIn competitor is cool.”

The individual wrote: “The worst part is that people just make things up! I’ve seen a lot of people using titles on LinkedIn that don’t even exist and couldn’t be further from what they actually do at the company like – being responsible for something doesn’t make you the ‘head’ of it. Lol.”

“LinkedIn is so awful I wonder why people continue to use it and some even post there – to be honest most of the posts must be a marketing thread dealing with the void,” said another.

A third noted, “X is the future. It makes all these other social media sites obsolete.”

“I’ve never had LinkedIn – I’m very interested in XedIn or Xonnect,” shared a fourth.

A fifth announced, “Yes, please. Much needed! I can’t stand LinkedIn anymore. Chill is the right word.”

“LinkedIn is so passé – looking forward to the @X team bringing something much more dynamic to this platform,” commented a fifth.
