NEET UG Counseling 2023: Medical Counseling Commission (MCC) has released a notification for conversion of nationality from Indian to NRI for NEET UG 3rd round counselling. Candidates who want to change citizenship must send the application by post from August 28, from 11 am to August 29, 2023, until 5 pm. Those who mail after the specified date will not be considered for the change of citizenship.

According to the notification issued, MCC stated, “Candidates should send their relevant documents as mentioned below, in support of their application for change of citizenship from Indian to NRI through email [email protected] from 11:00 in the morning on August 28, 2023 until 5:00 p.m. on August 29, 2023.”

How to Change Citizenship for NEET UG Counseling 2023 Round 3?

In order to change their citizenship, candidates must send their relevant documents as mentioned below, in support of their application through email [email protected]. Mails received before/after

the estimated time will not be taken into account. They are strongly advised to send all the attached documents only once, within the stipulated time. Mail received in pieces and in duplicate will not be considered.

What documents need to be submitted to change citizenship to NRI category?

MCC has published a list of documents that must be submitted for a change of citizenship. Go through the list of documents that must be uploaded in the email in the following order:

  • Documents claiming that the sponsor is an NRI (passport, visa of sponsored person)
  • Relationship of the NRI with the candidate
  • Declaration of the sponsor that he/she will sponsor the entire fee for the candidate’s course, notarized
  • Confirmation of the sponsor from the embassy (confirmation from the consulate)
  • NEET score card of the candidate

What are the requirements for candidates to switch category from Indian to NRI?

Candidates who want to change their category to NRI must keep the below mentioned points in mind:

  • Candidates must qualify NEET 2023 and eligible for NEET UG counselling
  • After category conversion, candidates will be treated as NRIs in all rounds of NEET counselling
  • Once the category is changed to NRI, candidates will not be able to avail the benefits under Muslim Minority Quota/Jain Minority Quota or any other quota
  • In the event that any of the submitted information or documents prove to be false, the counseling center will cancel the candidature
  • The institute’s reporting process in the second round ended on August 28. Those who wish to resign their seats in the second round must do so by 5:00 p.m. on August 31.
