Corterrius Allen is one of the contestants in the second season of Netflix Is that a cake too? This is not the first show in which he competed. Corterrius has teamed up with Holly Webster of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Amy Strickland of Orlando, Florida for the Food Network cooking competition halloween wars.
The Shelby native was the youngest person in the competition. “There is something therapeutic about baking and shaping cakes. I love designs and coming up with different levels of creativity. One day I want to own my own cake studio,” Corterrius said. “My motto is ‘Every day is someone’s birthday.’ This means that every morning I have the opportunity to help put a smile back on someone’s face and share their happiness.”
“I have to put my all into this,” Corterrius said in the trailer for the Netflix series, “I want that money.”

You may have seen posts and discussions online asking for help in determining whether a seemingly ordinary household item is actually real or fake. Literally anything could have been a cake, which became a joke.
On Friday, June 30, 2023, the outrageous cooking program returns for its second season. All episodes of the new season will be broadcast simultaneously. Season 2 also consists of eight episodes and is hosted by SNL’s returning Mikey Day.

What does Corterrius Allen do for a living?
With the help of a $35 baking kit and two cake pans bought for him by his mother, Jacquelyn Allen, Corterrius “DaCakeGoat” Allen began his adventure and discovered his love for creating and designing cakes.
“I was 18 years old when I started baking and decorating cakes. I started baking when I was a high school graduate. “Looking for work, I found myself at the Sweetery Bake Shop, where I worked as a baker, dishwasher and butter maker,” said the Mississippi resident. “I was very observant and soon learned to bake and create delicious works of art. When I started school at Coahoma Community College, I also decided to start my own baking career.”
While he claims his first cake was “ugly”, the friend who received it thought it was excellent and raved about it. After several years, the 20-year-old social work student at Mississippi Valley State University has made significant progress since buying that $35 baking set.
Corterrius previously said his love for cake design came out of nowhere. “My senior year I worked at a bakery in Cleveland called The Sweetery, while I was working I made buttercream, washed dishes and baked, but I never decorated cakes,” he explained.
After high school, Corterrius enrolled at Coahoma Community College, where he began to explore baking on a whole new level. He was a member of the CCC choir and student government association and participated in several campus organizations with hopes of becoming as well-rounded as possible during his years at Coahoma.
After all, Corterrius graduated with honors this spring, after majoring in sociology.
