Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s new show, Food Stars, is a search for the next big food and drink entrepreneur, not a cooking show. 15 culinary innovators took on business challenges prepared by Gordon himself in hopes of getting him to personally invest $250,000 in their business. By now, some contestants have already gone home on Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars, and luckily, Aaron isn’t one of them. In the series premiere, Kagen Cox was eliminated from the show after failing to impress Gordon Ramsay.
In the next two episodes, Elisa Strauss and Jake Aronskind accompanied Kagen. Luther Chen was the last content to go home.
Before Aaron Valentine was selected for Gordon Ramsey’s Food Stars, he co-owned a local snow cone and Kool Kats beverage store. He oversaw the marketing for the business and assisted the owner in the day-to-day operations.
After about six months of non-stop uploading snow cone videos to his popular TikTok handle, Aaron got a call from a casting director in January 2022 and suggested the young man apply for Food Stars, which would take four months.
“In between those four months, I sent them new videos every week to kind of showcase the business,” Aaron said. In the videos Aaron sent to casting directors, he expressed his desire to franchise Kool Kats and do snowmobile trailers.
After Aaron was selected to compete, he traveled to various locations including Napa Valley, California and other beach locations as part of a challenge that judged them on the food they cooked, marketing strategies, logos, communication skills and customer satisfaction, all this with the help and guidance of Gordon Ramsey.’
“He’s like your grandpa, your old grandpa who’s stuck in an old-fashioned way who just yells at you, but it’s tough love. He loves you. He wants the best out of you and that’s why he’ll push you to your lowest point and find your breaking point,” Aaron said of his time working with Gordon Ramsey.
Aaron Valentine’s career
In June 2021, Aaron had one goal: attend Northwest Missouri State University for Wildlife Ecology in the fall of 2021. He had no idea he would drop out on his first day of class after gaining 80k followers on TikTok.
Soon after, he became a part owner of the local snowmobile and Kool Kats liquor store. He took over the company’s marketing while continuing to grow its social media presence.
His whole life changed when Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars happened in his life. He met all kinds of people coming from different food industries, which allowed him to develop a network and work together on projects.
After filming Food Stars, Aaron turned his personality into a brand. He founded Snow Cone King. “Kool Kats, you know, we’re limited to Maryville. We had nothing to use national things with. So, I started developing a line of snow cone syrups to launch with the show,” said Aaron.
As of June 2023, Aaron has already started working on Snow Cone King merchandise and other products. In addition, the social media star still owns 50 percent of Kook Kats and helps with marketing.
Furthermore, Aaron also hosts this great podcast with Chris called The CEO Playground, where the two explore the business world like a kid on the playground.
Aron has been working since childhood. Before being associated with Kook Kats, he was a health coach at Oak Grove Nutrition. Before that, he worked as a cashier and salesman at Bass Pro Shops and as a former employee at QuikTrip.
Speaking of Aaron’s education, he studied Wildlife Ecology and Management/Conservation Biology at Northwest Missouri State University. He also attended Metropolitan Community College.
