NMC fake permission notice
NMC alert on fake permission letter: The National Medical Commission has issued a notice regarding fake permission letter issued to GSL Medical College, Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. The permission letter specified an increase in the number of medical posts called the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB).
In the notice, the commission clarified that the letter was not issued by the president of MARB because no request for an increase in the number of seats was received from the collegium. The notice issued states that a forged/bogus letter has been issued to GSL Medical College, Rajahmundry regarding the increase of seats in MD-Radio Diagnosis.
The seats have been increased from 10 to 24. NMC further clarifies that GSL Medical College has not received the application for increasing the number of seats in MD Radio Diagnosis program for the academic year 2023-24, so no communication regarding the same has been sent to the college from MARB, NMC. The NMC further pointed out that the letter is forged/fake and cannot be considered as a valid letter of permission from MARB.

The fake letter issued is dated March 24, 2023, stating that the application to the college under NTR University of Health Sciences has been approved for the academic year 2023-23. The permission to increase the number of places in the mentioned PG course and the enrollment of students will be for the time when the first group of students admitted on the basis of the course appear for the final exam in the subject.
The NMC added that the above facts inform the interested parties and the general public that they are not taking any action based on the fake letter and that appropriate action will be taken in this regard in accordance with the law.
Recently, NMC cleared the fake permission letter issued to Meenakshi Medical College, Kanchipuram and Santhiram Medical College, Kurnool for renewal of MBBS courses.
