“I’ve been thinking a lot about how much technology has advanced in the last 25 years and how people are adapting to it. Many years ago, while I was studying in the US, my dad – who had returned to India – got his first email address. I was really excited to have a faster (and cheaper) way to communicate with him, so I sent a message. And then I waited… and waited. Two full days passed before I received this reply: “Dear Mr. Pichai, Email received. Everything is fine,” Pichai shared on the blog.

In the next few lines, he added that he was “confused by the delay and formality.” So he turned to his father to find out the reason behind his answer. [Pichai’s father] he told me that someone at his job had to open the email on their office computer, print it, and then deliver it to him. My dad dictated the answer, which the guy wrote down and finally typed to give it back to me,” Pichai added.

Pichai also took to X to share the blog link:

Google was founded on September 4, 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Over the years, the company has undergone various changes to become the largest search engine in the world. Sundar Pichai, who joined the company in 2004, assumed the role of CEO in 2015, replacing Larry Page.

Pichai’s post on X about the company’s upcoming birthday prompted people to share various comments. “Happy birthday my friend,” user X posted. “Happy birthday Google. The word has become a part of our lives,” added another.

“Happy 25th birthday, Google! Your journey has been transformative for millions around the world. Cheers to the countless questions you answered and many more years of innovation and discovery!” joined the third. “I can’t believe that Google is only 25 years young. It seems like he’s been in our lives forever!” wrote the fourth.
