After his late friend Caroline became “seriously ill” with lung cancer in 2013, the 58-year-old actor took over Caroline’s vocal duties on Gogglebox. Craig is incredibly grateful to still be working at Gogglebox as it allows him to reconnect with his friend Caroline after her untimely death in 2016.
He said: “Caroline asked me to write ‘Gogglebox’ when she was unwell in November 2013, seriously ill with cancer. Obviously, I agreed.
“I wanted to be respectful of her right and the program at that difficult time. Caroline is back with me, so walking into the studio is a wonderful little moment.
In an interview with the Radio Times, he said: “I know Caroline will be watching ‘Gogglebox’ in heaven with 20 Bensons and a bottle of champagne.”
Craig is another big fan of the show and admits it’s “weird” to his friends that he still enjoys watching the program as a fan even though he spends time watching videos to practice narrating the show.
After I finish my narration, I watch the show like everyone else,” he said. “My friends find it strange that I watch it. However, I don’t watch it to hear my narration; rather, I’m a fan.

Craig, who is a native of Stockport, was born in 1960. He has been married to Stephanie Davies since 2000, with whom he has two children: Harry Cash and Billy Cash.
Of course, everyone is familiar with Craig from The Royle Family and, more recently, Gogglebox, but over the years he’s also appeared in countless sitcoms and TV sitcoms, such as Early Doors, Sunshine and The Fast Show to name a few.
