I was in one of the noughties biggest pop groups – bandmates are on Strictly, I’m happy meditating and doing yoga

HE may have been a member of one of the UK’s biggest pop groups, but in 2023 life looks a little different for former Hear’say singer Danny Foster.

While his friend Kym Marsh, 47, shows off her best moves on Strictly Come Dancing in front of millions of viewers across the country, Danny, now 44, enjoys a quieter daily routine with yoga and meditation.

The band rose to fame - but unfortunately, their story was short-lived

The music star, from London, recently revealed to fans of noughties pop band Hear’say that the two have been practicing for almost two decades.

Chatting to his Instagram followers, Danny said: “Meditation has been in my life for over 17 years – it’s absolutely fundamental.”

As well as incorporating twice-daily meditation, the former English singer makes sure to move his body – and here he swears by something called The Magic Ten yoga poses, as well as 5km runs, mobility and stretching.

As for his diet, Danny, who has been married to his wife Victoria Goddard for over five years, follows a plant-based lifestyle.

“We recently watched a documentary on Blue Zones on Netflix and it really inspired us to really put more plants into our everyday lives.”

After the band broke up, Danny traded the busy life for a more relaxed one – and it seems his social circle has changed since then, too.

Speaking about his friends, the yoga fanatic said he likes to surround himself with people “who are working on their life and their consciousness and expanding their life in such a beautiful way.”

The Hear’Say grand final wasn’t the end of Danny’s music career – he appeared on The Voice in 2013 to perform unique version of the Spice Girls hit Wannabe.

Unfortunately, none of the judges turned to follow him.

Two years later, in 2015, he was involved in a dramatic car accident in which he was forced to flee a car fire, The Sun reported.

As well as living a zen life compared to his days in the band, the 44-year-old also runs a retro soul act with his wife called Danny Foster & The Big Soul Corporation.

”I’ve come to a stage where I have a great routine in my life,” Danny revealed, adding that he’s changed the way he uses his phone.

Instead of spending endless hours aimlessly scrolling through social media, the former Hear’say star keeps the device “completely out of the bedroom.”

The alarm – a quiet melody – would sound from the other room and Danny would immediately start meditating, he said.

Rumors surfaced last year about the former band reuniting, with fellow ex-star Suzanne Shaw admitting: “I’d love to see it happen!”

Unfortunately, earlier this summer, the 41-year-old mother-of-two revealed that fans will be sorely disappointed.

In conversation with the new! Suzanne said: “It would be lovely, but I think so [chapter] is closed.

“I just don’t feel like we’re all on the same page and – as much as I’d love to and it would be amazing – I have very fond memories of that time.

“But I think it would have happened by now if that was an option.”

Unlike Danny who now lives a more Zen life, Kym Marsh is still on our TV screens
