How to unlock fast travel in Gotham Knights

Gotham Knights there are plenty of moves to master as you team up to take down baddies around town. Not only can each class unlock unique movement skills, but you also have the ability to summon vehicles and grapples across skyscrapers. At the beginning of the game, learning these movement options is a lot to do … but when you start to see how big Gotham is in your many missions, you’ll want some shortcuts.

fortunately, Gotham Knights includes a fast travel option to skip key points in the city. However, it doesn’t unlock right away, so you have to activate it when you start learning the ropes. Here’s exactly what you need to do to make sure you’re ready.

How to unlock fast travel points in Gotham Knights

Step 1: Skip the intro and start playing patrols and unlock missions. Complete the missions and you’ll eventually receive a message from a certain familiar face – Lucius Fox.

The tricky part is that there is no guarantee which mission will prompt Fox to contact you. It’s best to keep playing them and work on getting to know some of the notable villains in Gotham City, like Penguin, Harley Quinn, etc. Fox should make contact after a few missions.

Step 2: Meet Lucius Fox at his company Foxtec, where he’ll be waiting for you on the roof and talk about how to help you fight crime with a certain quick invention of his. He will give you his personal mission to complete. If you want to unlock fast travel as soon as possible, give this mission a priority.

Step 3: Fox’s quest requires you to scan the city for dangerous drones to figure out how to disable them. This is a bit tedious, so take some patience with you when you go. Open the city map and look for noticeable red pins around the city. Each red pin represents a fast travel point that you can unlock. This means it’s a good idea to first choose the pins closest to your activities or the pins to areas you’d prefer to fast travel to in order to save time.

Step 4: Travel to the red pin location and look for patrol drones. Get close enough to the drones, preferably clinging to a wall or roof, and enter augmented reality (AR) mode to scan them. Be careful – if the drones spot you wandering around, they’ll start opening fire, so it’s best to be as sneaky as possible.

Some checkpoints only require one drone scan to unlock. Others may require two or three, generally tending towards the outskirts of the city. Certain drones have shields that block scanning. You cannot disable these shields – instead, follow the drone and wait for it to land on its station, or choose another drone target.

Step 5: Once your three drones are scanned, a waypoint opens for that part of town. With Fox’s high-tech wingsuit, you can now fast travel to that location at any time.

There are a total of eight different fast travel points that you can unlock throughout the city. You can go at your own pace here: there’s no need to unlock them all at once, and some may have higher priority than others, depending on your current missions or where you want to patrol.

What about challenges for chivalry?

While it’s not exactly fast travel, there are other travel skills you can unlock that work very, very well with fast travel to get you exactly where you want to go at maximum speed. You can get them by completing three Chivalry challenges with your desired character.

These challenges include completing combat training, stopping premeditated crimes, and defeating minibosses. Combat training is the easiest to complete, and you will complete the rest by progressing through the game and familiarizing yourself with the activities.

Once the challenges are completed, your character’s class gets a new move. This ranges from a glider for Nightwing to an interesting soul hop ability for Red Hood. You will have to repeat the challenges for each character if you want to unlock them all.
