Survivor 45 returns for a new season in 2023, and Kellie Nalbandian is one of the 18 contestants you’ll see competing. She shared with Parade.com that the non-winner from the show, which is associated with Kelley Wentworth, was due to her “shabby, persistent vibe” and the winner was Parvati due to her “ability to be a woman and play aggressively and ruthlessly, but also be charming, be a little soft and be that person that people feel attracted to.”
As for her preparation, Kellie said, “I’d come home from a 12-hour shift and I’d be like, ‘Oh my God, I’ve got to work out.’ And I’m on my feet literally all day. I’m pretty strong; I practiced. [Flexed her bicep, then laughs.] I have to drag people who can’t move in bed around, me and my other 120 pound friend who is also a nurse pulling people out of bed. It is very difficult for me to fit it in because I have school and work. But I actually originally applied in January 2022. So it was sort of in the 43/44 cycle.”
Speaking about what she values in an alliance partner, she added: “I would like to play with people who I not only trust, but whose motives I understand.” They don’t have to be traditionally predictable — I just have to “get” them and vibrate with them! And hopefully we can have fun together.”
Speaking about her biggest achievement, she added: “Working through the COVID-19 pandemic as a nurse in New York — it showed me that I have a lot more resilience and determination than I thought! I am also proud to have been a senior in nursing school and to have entered Yale for graduate school. I think people really underestimate the intelligence of nurses, but I live to prove people wrong.”
The historic 45th season of the veteran reality series will retain the format known as “New Era” for the past few years. The three tribes make up the starting group of 18 players. During 26 days, they will embark on dangerous journeys, engage in “mergatorium” and rice trade, and participate in a competition for social, tactical and physical dominance. Their occupations range from truck drivers to singers to civil rights lawyers.
The first player back in the new era is Bruce Perreault, who gets another shot despite playing just one day in Season 44, making seventeen of them new to the game. But no matter where they’re from or how much experience they have, everyone wants to win the game and be the last one standing when it’s over.

But the outbreak hit my job as a nurse for about a year. It happened in New York. Therefore, it goes without saying that it was the most demanding and difficult thing that my mother had to do in my life.
