Bernard Stiegler, a philosopher extremely critical of the capitalist system, who devoted his research to the changes brought to society by digital technology, died on Thursday at the age of 68, the International Faculty of Philosophy announced. A committed thinker of the left, who took a stand against the excesses of liberal society, Bernard Stiegler turned his attention to questions of mutation – social, political, economic and psychological – brought about by technological development.
