Who started World Smile Day?
The story behind this day began with the creation of an artist named Harvey Ball, the BBC reports. In 1963, this American artist decided to make a huge yellow smiley face. His creation became extremely popular. Ball, however, was concerned that eventually his creation would lose its meaning. Therefore, he came up with a solution in the form of World Smile Day. He dedicated this day as a reminder to everyone to smile, be kind and make others smile.
