A plane that appeared to be on fire was recently spotted over Seattle, spreading panic on social media. However, the incident was reportedly a false alarm.

“It was a pyrotechnic parachute for the Sounders Game tonight at Lumen Field,” a Seattle police spokesman told the Daily Mail, referring to the city’s MLS club.

“Did any of you see this over Seattle, lmao what’s going on,” one X user posted, sharing the video. “What the hell are they practicing? Blow up?” one user commented, while another said: “It’s ‘clypse. It’s here!” “Oh, the plane’s engine caught fire,” said one user.
“The video appears to show a large plane losing two engines in flames over Seattle…!” wrote one user. “has anyone yet explained what is going on with the sparks and flames of the plane over seattle?” said the other.
“Passenger plane engines apparently caught fire and fell off near Seattle!” one user said, before the update, saying “this was a USAF C-130 (JESSE91) dropping skydivers tonight over Lumen Field for the Seattle FC Sounders game. Looked crazy though.”
Many commented on the post, with one user saying: “Did he land badly or crash?” One user said: “Perhaps an emergency engine shutdown or some mechanic,” while another wrote: “Why are so many bad things happening lately?”
