Google Pixel 7: how to take a screenshot and record your screen

The Google Pixel 7 Pro is one of the biggest hits of 2022. Although it has software and reliability issues, it’s one of the best camera phones you can buy today, and it has some extremely strong other areas. The large, beautiful 6.7-inch AMOLED screen has a 120Hz refresh rate, is colorful and vivid.

But in this age of long-distance communication, you can’t always show someone your physical appearance. No problem; a screenshot will show everyone what you’re looking at on the screen! Whether it’s diagnosing a technical problem, a funny meme, or a chat, here’s how to take a screenshot and record the screen on the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

How to take a screenshot on Google Pixel 7

Taking a screenshot is easy, although there are a few more advanced options you could use to capture more of your screen or edit your screenshot.

Step 1: Navigate to the screen you want to capture.

Step 2: Press and hold Power and Boost buttons on the side of the phone. If you’ve done it right, you’ll hear the camera shutter sound and see the screenshot physically appear.

That’s technically all you need to take a screenshot, but if you’re looking for some advanced options, there are a few more tools to look out for. All of these options appear in the description next to your screenshot right after you take it, so act fast to grab them.

Capture most of your screen

If your screen moves lower and you want to capture more of it, select it Record more button. This opens a full-screen display, with the currently visible portion selected. To show more on the screenshot, drag and select as many as you want.

Sharing and editing

In a hurry to submit your screenshot? Just choose Share icon next to your screenshot and select an app to send your screenshot immediately.

Or, if you’d rather crop or otherwise edit your screenshot, tap Pencil icon immediately after taking. You can also navigate to your Photos app and edit it from there. We’ll tell you how to find your screenshots in the next section.

Screenshots mean nothing if you can’t find them. Fortunately, this is also easy to do.

Step 1: Head to your Photos application

Step 1: Pull down the notification screen on top of your Pixel 7. Pull down again to access Fast action tiles and swipe left.

Step 3: Choose if you want Record audio or Show screen touchesand then hit Beginning to start recording.

Step 4: A countdown will start on your notification bar and a red recording icon will indicate when the video is being recorded.

Step 5: To stop recording, pull down the notification screen and press Stop.

Once you find your screenshot, you can edit or share it. Here’s how to find them.

Step 1: Open your Photos application

Step 2: Head towards Library, then go to *Movies.
