Nintendo just gave Kirby fans a very sweet surprise. The company announced Kirby’s Dream Buffetwhich is due out on the Nintendo Switch later this summer.

Kirby’s Dream Buffet is a cute multiplayer racing game that features a group of colorful Kirbys rolling and racing through four rounds of food-themed courses, most of which are made of candy. It’s a race to get the most strawberries, knock other players off the icy tracks and use food copying abilities to achieve their goals.
Kirby has a wide variety of food copying abilities at his disposal, such as Tornado Cupcake and Jujube Brick. The more strawberries Kirby collects, the bigger he grows. The Kirby with the most weight at the end wins the competition.
Kirby’s Dream Buffet looks inspired Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, only their rolls have more speed and more candy and junk food than they can muster. The game’s announcement also comes more than three months after its release Kirby and the Forgotten Landthe title that kicked off the pink puffball’s 30th anniversary celebration and won the hearts of fans and critics alike.
Don’t be too shocked by the time between posts Kirby and the Forgotten Land and announcement of Kirby’s Dream Buffet. Nintendo has a history of releasing spin-off Kirby games within the same year as the main title every few years. They are usually lower priced than the main game, but from Kirby’s Dream Buffet is a Nintendo eShop exclusive title, we are not sure if it will be discounted or free to play. Either way, the game looks like the icing on Kirby’s birthday cake.
