Lords of the Fallen has plenty of shortcuts to find in its huge and densely packed levels, but they’re often locked behind doors that require you to collect certain keys to unlock them. Such is the case with the Sunless Skein Key, which you won’t be able to find until well into your adventure. In fact, it’s likely that you’ll come across doors looking for this key long before you actually find it. Fortunately, the interconnected world of Lords of the Fallen means you’ll almost certainly return to that door later in your journey. Where to get the Sunless Skein key
The Sunless Skein Key is found relatively late in the game while exploring an area known as, well, the Sunless Skein. This dark and dreary area is full of baddies and will take you a while to make your way through, but eventually you’ll reach the rest of the Hoist, which will get you pretty close to getting your hands on the key.
From the rest of the Crane, exit the small room the way you first entered it, taking an immediate left towards the nearby lever.

Go past this lever and cross to a bridge that you can lower as a shortcut to the other side. Cross this bridge and continue straight into the cave until you reach a new room.

Defeat the enemies here and go through the small archway ahead. In this next room, you’ll notice a lot of cages everywhere, but there’s also a ladder to the right of the area that you can climb up to reach a lever that you’ll need to pull.

While you’re up here, look at the item on the cage on the opposite side of the path from the lever. This happens to be the key you came for. However, you won’t be able to jump to the key. Instead, pull out your Umbral Lantern and slowly walk across the path it creates. On the bright side, you can finally grab the Sunless Skein Key.

With the Sunless Skein Key finally added to your inventory, you can now open a handful of different doors that you’ll come across as you continue to explore, allowing you to create shortcuts and access new areas throughout the game world.
