Cottesmore School has created this unique addition to help and support Head of School Tom Rogerson. The AI bot will provide advice on a wide range of topics, including how to support students and fellow teachers, reports the BBC. It will also help schoolchildren who have additional needs.

What did Tom Rogerson say about the new colleague?

“Sometimes having someone or something to help you has a very calming effect,” he told The Telegraph newspaper, reports the BBC. “Being a school leader, principal, is a very lonely job. Of course, we have groups of directors, but just having someone or something at your fingertips to help you in this lonely place is very reassuring. It’s nice to think that someone who is incredibly well trained is there to help you make decisions,” he added.

How will Abigail Bailey work?

The private boarding school created a chatbot in cooperation with an AI developer. Children studying at school will have personal access to AI. With a similar working model to ChatGPT, Abigail Bailey will provide answers to users’ questions.
