Seals Keeper Nicole Belloubet was asked on Wednesday to prepare a new draft of the regulation on protective measures for victims of domestic violence, despite sharp criticism of the previous text. The May 27 decree was to put into practice the proposed Pradié law adopted in December, which fixed the family judge for a period of six days to decide on the request for a protection order, a device designed to shelter victims.
Women’s associations and member Aurélien Pradié (LR) strongly criticized this text, believing that it could produce the opposite effect of the one expected by introducing the new rule: it gives the victim up to 24 hours to inform her abusive spouse, through the bailiff, a procedure that is against care started.
