The family of a teenager who suffered a broken jaw after being called on the night of May 25-26 has filed two complaints against Bondy.

The recording of his testimony was widely shared on the networks. Gabriel, a 14-year-old boy seriously wounded in the eye during an arrest by police in Bondy (Seine-Saint-Denis) ten days ago, was released from hospital on Friday, his lawyer said on Monday.

Gabriel’s family filed two lawsuits: one to the IGPN and the other to the prosecutor’s office in Bobigny. According to Loopsider, the young man was arrested on the night of May 25-26 while trying to steal a scooter. According to a police source, he would “fall” and “revolt” during the arrest.

What happened ?

On 25 May, Gabriel and a friend intend to steal a scooter in Bondy, but are arrested by four officers at Bondy Police Station. According to the Bondy Blog, two young people run in opposite directions when they see law enforcement coming. The call usually goes to Gabriel’s friend who is taken down to the ground before being handcuffed and led away. In his complaint, Gabriel says he ran away at the sight of the agents after being spotted by residents trying to steal a scooter. Caught, he was lowered to the ground and handcuffed.

According to the story of Gabriel Bondy Blog’s mother, the latter first thought he was with his big brother until he went home alone to the family home. At night, the office calls the family to tell them that Gabriel is in custody and that “everything is fine.” But a few hours later, the mother was prevented from pediatric emergencies at Jean Verdier Hospital in Bondy “having his son taken from the office to the hospital by firefighters,” the Bondy Blog details.

That said, Gabriel?

Gabriel is responsible for getting kicked in the face by one or two police officers. In his complaint, he stated that while they were tying him up, the policeman stood in front of his face and kicked him “three or four times with the top of his shoe, while dealing with the “barrel”.

“There were three boys and a woman. They knocked me to the ground, put a knee on my head, a knee on my shoulder, put handcuffs on me. A blonde woman held my ankles while an agent, a bearded one, big enough, hit me on the head.” explained the Bondy Blog as well.He claims he also received another blow to the back of the skull, but was unable to identify the perpetrator.

He is then taken to the scooter, where police continue with the findings, before being taken to Bondy police station: “suffering from dizziness and intense pain, he vomited and spat including blood,” the complaint said. The police would wait “more than an hour” before contacting the firefighters who would take them to the hospital, it says. “The police told them that I fell. Then I told them that it was wrong and that I was typing,” Gabrijel recalls in front of the Loopsider camera.

What is the version of the police?

A police source claims that Gabriel “fell” and “mutinised”. According to this version of events, the teenager would have run in “all by himself” in an attempt to escape the police, and “the officer would have tripped over him,” according to Loopsider.

The young man, who has been prescribed 30 days of total incapacity for work (ITT), has a “fracture of the maxilla extended to the bottom of the orbit on the left side,” said a source close to the investigation. He had to undergo surgery on Tuesday afternoon.

“The operation went well, a priori, he will still be able to use his eye,” said his lawyer Stéphane Gas, noting that it was necessary to wait to know the development of the consolidation of his injuries. The version of a simple fall is “incompatible” with the medical findings, adds Me Gas. “He has a fractured eye socket, three of his front teeth at the top, just below his nose, which are broken. If it was caused by a fall, it would have to be extremely violent and the nose would have to be touched, but that’s not the case.”

investigation underway

The teenager was interviewed by the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) on Thursday and his statements were confirmed, his lawyer emphasized.
