While dining at El Buen Comer, the man ordered a seafood paella and two whiskeys. When presented with a bill for 34.85 euros (about 3,000 rupees), he tried to leave without paying, according to the Spanish news agency EFE.

When staff confronted him and reminded him he had an unpaid bill, the man claimed he needed to bring money from his hotel. The staff, however, called the police, it continues.

According to The Sun, El Buen Comer’s manager said: “It was very theatrical, he pretended to pass out and collapsed on the floor. We sent his photo to all the restaurants to prevent him from going on strike again.”

The media further reported that a worker at Sale&Pepe, another restaurant he defrauded, received a picture of the man with a warning.

“He was arrested several times in the city of Alicante. The modus operandi was the same,” a spokesperson for the Alicante National Police told Insider.
