Instagram page We Rate Dog shared how Alex managed to save the 17-year-old’s life. “Early one Saturday morning, he started jumping on his parents’ bed and pawing at them. When they reluctantly woke up to let him out, Axel wouldn’t come out. Instead, he stood outside the closed bedroom door of the couple’s 17-year-old son, Gabriel, and would not move. Inside, Gabriel had a stroke. When Gabriel’s dad went to check on the teenager, he quickly realized something was wrong. Gabriel was slurred and could not feel his right side. Thanks to Axel’s actions, they were able to rush Gabriel to the hospital,” the site wrote.

In the next few lines, they added that Gabriel was “making amazing progress” and that thanks to Alex’s intervention, things didn’t get any worse. “The family plans to make Axel a small medal of honor that will go on his collar. And we give him our highest honor, 15/10,” the site added. They rounded off the post with a picture of Alex with Gabriel.

Shortly after I got home, I started suffocating in the middle of the night because everything was broken and I couldn’t sit up. My Pitbull pushed my son’s door and started barking. He heard me choking and came to my aid. I was out of breath at that moment. God bless our cute animals,” wrote a fourth.
