Warzone 2.0’s latest update doesn’t address many issues, but adds more bundles

Activision has released a new blog outlining what to expect Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Season 2 Reloaded, the game’s mid-season update. While Modern Warfare 2 will get a decent amount of content during season 2 of Reloaded, but the same cannot be said for Warzone 2.0which has been struggling with updates since its launch.

The Battle Royale game is riddled with issues, and the blog post doesn’t mention anything about implementing fixes during Season 2 Reloaded. Instead, Activision is pushing its trade packs, which leaves a bad taste in some fans’ mouths.

Advertising in-game purchases isn’t necessarily a bad thing, even more so for a free-to-play title like this Warzone 2.0. Still, the decision raises questions about Activision’s priorities, as the company seems to be more focused on revenue than improving the experience right now. Inside the post, the shop packs take up a fair amount of space, and while some of them are cool (like Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Activision hasn’t earned the right to sell us cosmetics yet.

Warzone 2.0 it still has core gameplay issues like crashing, a much-criticized UI, and even the dominant KV Broadside shotgun, which is currently considered one of the most powerful weapons in Warzone history.

It’s worth noting that balance changes and improvements are almost certainly coming during Season 2 of Reloaded. But Activision’s decision to advertise the store packs seems a bit lacking given that the blog doesn’t assure the community that fixes are coming. It would go a long way to mention that tweaks and improvements are in the game to make sure the community is listening to the developers. As it stands, the community is still in the dark about it.
