For many platformer fans, part of the appeal of the genre comes from the act of fully completing a list of collectibles or secondary achievements in a game. The miracle of Super Mario Bros does an amazing job in this regard including a wide variety of hidden exits to discover, unlockable badges that can change the way you play, and even an entire secret world that offers a significant increase in difficulty.
But if you’re a completionist, you’ll also want to pay attention to the in-game medals, which appear on your save file tab and indicate that you’ve fully completed certain in-game objectives. Beat the game

You will get a medal for winning the game. This medal should be the most sensible thing to get because you’ll just have to get to the end of the game — meaning you won’t have to worry about finishing this game completely. However, there is still plenty to do for the other medals.
Collect each standing

You will get a medal for collecting all the pedestals in the game. Standees can be placed almost anywhere within the levels and act as a respawn point for the spirits of players who touch them. There are a total of 144 stands that can be purchased from Poplin Shops using Flower Coins, although the stand you get will be random. Just keep paying to eventually collect them all. If you’re tired of gambling with random draws, the Poplin shop in the Special World will let you spend 30 Flower Coins to make sure you get a new standee.
Get every badge

You will receive a medal for earning each badge in the game. Badges can be equipped to give your character a number of unique abilities throughout the level. Earn every miracle seed

You will get a medal for finding and collecting all the miraculous seeds in the game. These colorful seeds can be obtained in several ways. You’ll get one for reaching the end of each level, as well as an extra one for completing any miracle effect you encounter along the way.
Find each 10 flower coin

You will get a medal for collecting every 10 flower coins in the game. There are three of these giant purple coins in each level, and occasionally they’re pretty well hidden, so you’ll definitely have to do a little extra exploring to find them all.
Reach the top of each flag

You will get a medal if you capture the top of every flag in the game. There’s a flagpole at the end of each level, and they’ll often have a unique or interesting way where you’ll have to get high enough to get to the very top. But if you fail the first time, don’t worry too much because you can repeat the levels as many times as you want.
