SSSniperwolf apologises as YouTube demonetises her over ‘doxxing’ incident

In early October, fellow YouTuber Jack Douglass (Jacksfilms) accused Twitch streamer Alia Shelesh aka SSSniperwolf of doxxing him. Jack claimed that Alia shared his address on her Instagram story. He called her out via his X tag and asked YouTube to demonetize the “dangerous creator.” In response, the platform recently released a statement saying that streamer Twitch has received a “temporary monetization suspension.” Afterwards, Alia apologized to Jack, saying that she hoped to reach a common ground with him.

YouTube suspends ‘monetization’ of SSSniperwolf

YouTube’s statement via a reply to Jack’s X thread reads: “I confirm that SSSniperWolf has received a temporary suspension of monetization under the Creator Responsibility Policy. Off-platform actions that threaten the personal safety of others harms our community, and the behavior of both parties is not what we want on YT. I hope everyone will help move this conversation to a better place.” This news has sent the internet into a frenzy as the platform’s tweet has garnered over 15.2 million views so far.

SSSniperwolf shares an apology post

Soon after the incident, Alia took to Xu, formerly of Twitter, to apologize for her behavior and admit that what she did was “inexcusable”. She wrote: “Let me start by saying that I am sorry for my recent actions; it is unforgivable. I’m sorry to Jacksfilm, YouTube, the entire creator community, and my amazing fans for not being a better example of proper conflict resolution.”

She also addressed Jack, saying, “Jacksfilm, while we certainly disagree and have our differences, I’m sorry I reacted the way I should have taken the opportunity to show young creators how adults and professionals resolve conflict by communicating directly, respectfully and privately; not for looks or content, but a meaningful example of how conflict should be resolved.”

“I will be in touch directly and I hope we can find some time to connect and communicate, with respect. I would also like to thank YouTube for holding me accountable. I deserve it, I respect the decision and I appreciate the opportunity to learn and grow from a real lapse in judgment,” she added.
