How to reset the TCL Q6 QLED Google TV

Resetting a TV is one of those things that is important to know how to do, even if you probably won’t do it very often. And if you own a TCL Q6 QLED Google TV, luckily, we know how to do it. Why would you want to reset your TCL Q6? The most common reason would be if you are selling it or perhaps passing it on to a friend or relative, as you don’t want your information on board for the next person to see. (Even if it’s someone you know, that wouldn’t be great.)

Another reason you might want to reset your TCL Q6 is if it’s misbehaving and doesn’t seem quite… right. Yes, it’s basically a computer with a big screen, but these things can occasionally take on a life of their own, and the only way out seems to be a complete wipe. A bit of rot is real, and there are ghosts in the machine.

Here’s how to reset the TCL Q6 (and most other current TCL TVs that use Google TV, for that matter), whether you’re using it in basic mode or with your Google account.

How to reset TCL Q6

This is one of those things that is super easy to do, as long as you know where to find it in the menu system. This is where we perform.

Step 1: Get your TCL Q6 remote control. (Remember, it must be a TV remote. Not an Apple TV or Amazon Fire TV remote or whatever else you might be using.)

Step 3: Choose settings from the menu that popped up on the screen.

Step 6: Another confirmation: This time you will have to enter a four-digit number. (It will be different than the one you see here.) Enter it, then sit back and let the TV do its thing.

PIN confirmation is the last step of the TCL Q6 reset process.

And that’s it. Note that this is how you reset your TCL Q6 QLED TV whether it’s in the most basic mode or if you’ve loaded it with your Google account and all the Google TV apps and data that come with it.
