A major accident occurred Saturday morning at a turnpike in Pennsylvania that blocked part of the highway. Two people were killed in a devastating accident involving a jet fuel tank truck and two cars.

Videos of the incident have gone viral on social media showing the tanker burning as black smoke billows into the sky. The footage shows wreckage scattered across the highway as vehicles drive past, avoiding the burning tanker.
According to a report by wtae.com, the accident occurred after the driver parked a vehicle with a flat tire on the right side of the highway. Another vehicle pulled up behind him and flashed its warning lights. But a truck carrying jet fuel hit both vehicles, resulting in a large fireball engulfing all three vehicles. The driver of the truck and the driver of another vehicle were killed in the accident.

The highway was closed to traffic for several hours. The fire was stopped by crews who sprinkled foam on the burning vehicles. As a precautionary measure, some residents living nearby were evacuated from their homes.
Announcing the traffic shutdown, PA Turnpike Alerts tweeted: “INCIDENT: #PaTurnpike I-476 North milepost 26 between Mid-County exit #20 and Lansdale exit #31. All lanes are blocked and all northbound traffic is stopped. Drivers should avoid I-476 north, north of Mid-County exit #20. Be prepared for backed up traffic. Expect major delays.”
