The miracle of Super Mario Bros is an exciting adventure for everyone’s favorite plumber, but while there is a lot to do in this wondrous outing, most players should find that the game’s difficulty level is generally not too stressful. However, ending the game means losing some of your hard-earned flower coins, so you might as well collect extra lives just to be safe. Of course, you can earn a 1-up by collecting 100 gold coins or shopping at Poplin shops using your flower coins, but we also have a cool infinite lives exploit that you can use early in the game to make things even easier. How to get infinite lives
You can access the infinite lives exploit very early in the game by visiting the third level of the Pipe-Rock Plateau called “Scram, Skedaddlers!” However, note that the exploit will only work if you use the Parachute Cap badge while using Yoshi, so be sure to equip the badge and swap your character for any of the four unique Yoshi options before entering the level.

A little further into the level, you’ll come across a Skedaddler in a tree holding a large purple coin hostage. As you approach him, he’ll start running away from you, so chase him across the musical notes until you reach a point where he latches onto some honeycomb. Let Skedaddler fire his acorns to break the honeycombs to his left, freeing up space where you can stand across from him.
Now stand next to Skedaddler and let him shoot acorns at you. Your goal is to jump and keep landing on them without touching the ground, as this will give you a 1-up after the first few bounces.
To do this, simply use Yoshi’s flutter jump to stay afloat between each of Skedaddler’s three shots, then use the parachute cap to stay airborne long enough for the enemy to start another round of three missiles. This may take some practice, but after a few tries, you should find that you can round up infinite 1-ups in no time.

This trick will keep the 1-ups flowing as long as you keep the combo going. If you miss one, you’ll have to start over – but don’t fret, as it won’t take many bounces to restart the 1-up combo. Additionally, if you’d rather get your 1-ups without using this trick, note that you’ll be able to buy a stack of 99 lives from the Poplin Shop after you beat the game, which should be enough to help you deal with all the collectibles that are you remaining.
