An optical illusion has challenged puzzle fans to find a hidden stash of cash in a sea of scrap technology.

The illustration was created by musicMagpie, a UK-based technology buy-and-trade company, ahead of International E-Waste Day on October 14.
The image was a fun way to draw attention to e-waste or electronic waste in the UK.
According to musicMagpie, the UK produces more than 133,141 tonnes (about 146,763 tons) of e-waste every month.
“It can be really hard to know what to do with your unused technology,” said Sam Vesey, group chief sustainability officer at musicMagpie.
“While keeping your old devices may seem like the best solution, their value will drop and they will become obsolete and therefore more likely to end up in landfill as e-waste.”
To reduce your e-waste, musicMagpie suggests recycling your old devices and taking care of the technology you currently use.
“When it comes to maintaining your devices, you don’t need a lot of time or money.
“For phones or tablets, it can be as simple as investing in a shock-resistant case and screen protector to reduce the daily wear and tear on our devices,” Vesey said.
Vesey also advised consumers to buy refurbished technology when buying new appliances.
“When it’s time to upgrade your technology, buying refurbished devices is a really easy way to prevent e-waste and reduce CO2 emissions compared to buying new,” Vesey said.
An additional advantage is cheap refurbished technology.
“Refurbished devices are usually much cheaper than their new counterparts and have undergone rigorous checks to ensure they are in good working order.
“You’ll often get a free warranty on your refurbished tech, which means if there are technical defects or faults caused by improper workmanship or materials, they’ll be repaired or replaced free of charge,” Vesey said.
