Data cited in the OECD report reveals a significant trend: Indians make up the largest national contingent gaining citizenship in rich countries, with Canada showing the most significant proportional increase, recording a significant jump of 174% between 2021 and 2022 among host countries.
Furthermore, last year witnessed a historic milestone as it witnessed the highest number of foreign nationals acquiring citizenship in OECD countries at a whopping 28 lakh persons, a significant escalation of 25% compared to the figures of 2021.
