Cat parents or even people who like to watch cat videos will agree that kitties are not always ready to make friends with dogs. There have been cases of cats rejecting dogs who tried to befriend them. However, a dog named Kovu found the perfect way to navigate through these obstacles and become friends with a cat named Simba. The dog watched as its pet parents used ropes while playing with the cat, and then entertained the cat with the same object.

“I tried so hard to make friends with the cat,” reads the description posted with the video. The clip opens to show a cat lying on the floor with a dog standing in front of her. The dog also has several leashes that he holds in front of the cat. Initially disinterested, the cat finally becomes mildly interested in playing with the ropes and the dog.
“Kovu, our Australian, always wanted to be friends with Simba. Simba would never have it, always kicking and hissing. Kovu noticed that we were playing on the string with Simba and he tried,” the original poster adds to explain how the dog came up with the idea.
