More than one billion Android devices are at risk of being hacked because they are no longer protected by security updates. It turns out that on that Friday the British marktwaakhond Which?.

This means that more than a billion phones and tablets worldwide will no longer have security updates. These devices are therefore vulnerable to data breaches, ransomware and other forms of malware-based attacks, according to Which?.
Marktwaakhond tested five Android devices to see if they could be infected with malware – Motorola X and Samsung Galaxy, Sony Xperia Z2 and LG/Google Nexus 5 and Samsung Galaxy S6.
They had to have researchers on all these phones to infect them with malware, but some of the phones that worked, even had to create multiple malware infections. According to the researchers, people with a phone for 2012, which will be released, are at the greatest risk. ‘The concern is that most Android devices have such a short lifespan’
