Coach Ronald Koeman may have very little to say about Memphis Depay’s possible participation in the European Cup. The Orange star is rehabilitating a serious knee injury, and is hoping the tournament will have to fix that.
“I’ve been in Memphis, I’ve been there. It’s going according to plan. It’s going to be faster than other rehabs are going. It’s still too early to draw some conclusions. If you need it, you won’t be able to,” Koeman said in Tuesday’s Nations League draw against The new means of communication.
“I like to take it. The time will come. I’ve been in touch with Memphis, as well as the Orange doctor. He was on his way back, and it takes some time after this. Everything else should be good to go. Finally, we have to wait and see, or that, at the time that is.”
The 26-year-old Memphis suffered a serious knee injury during a match with Olympique Lyon in December. The Euro seems impossible to achieve, but the striker regularly posts footage of himself on social media, stating that his recovery is going smoothly.
‘Unbelievable as he is’
Koeman, is in any case very happy, with the good will of those performances in Memphis. “I think it’s amazing to see what he’s like,” the 56-year-old Orange head coach said.
