How to find your Threads ticket to show when you joined

You know a social media network is really starting to fail not when executives say it has about 100 million users, but when nonsense and “challenges” start to enter the mainstream. The network in question in Threads – which at this point has probably become the de facto service for anyone who no longer wants to mess with Twitter (or X, or whatever). And the trend du jour is publishing a squamomorphic map showing how early you arrived on a Meta-owned platform.

The lower the number, the earlier you got to Threads in the initial rush after the surprise announcement that Meta would be releasing it earlier than expected. If you want to play along or just don’t remember where the ticket is because you had better things to do, we’ve got you covered. Here’s how to get it, publish it, and then think about the bigger question of what your life has become.

How to find your Threads map

First things first: take your phone and open the Threads app.

Step 1: Ignore threads that make fun of Twitter, or announce how someone quit Twitter for Threads, or the ones about how big Threads is getting. Touch Person icon in the lower right corner to access your profile card.

Step 2: Now tap on the icon with two lines on the top right corner to open settings Menu.

Step 3: Tap Eye. (It’s at the bottom of the list, just above Change Profile and Log Out. But don’t touch them.)

Step 4: Now tap About your profile.

Step 5: You will now see a summary of your profile in four lines pop up from the bottom. This includes your first and last name, when you joined along with your joining number, the country you are in and if you are paying to be verified by Meta, the date of that scheme.

Step 6: This is fine. But you want a ticket so you can properly brag and be part of the “I know where to find my ticket club.” So tap Connected line and your ticket will open.

And that’s it. Now you have a great ticket with the same information, as well as a QR code for people to add you. Try it for good measure, then record it (cool kids record the screen spinning) and post it on Threads.

You know you want to. And while you’re at it, follow your friend Phil.
