In a slightly odd choice of design, Dead Island 2 it does not contain a fully connected open world. Instead, you go to individual zones that are connected via a loading screen as you progress through the game. At first this might lead you to think that there is no fast travel function, but this is not the case. You don’t have the ability to fast travel between locations for longer than you would in most other games, and there are limitations, so here’s everything you need to know about fast travel in Dead Island 2.

How to unlock fast travel
Until you reach the Venice Beach location as part of the main story in the Dead Island 2, you will have no choice but to transfer it from one place to another. However, once you get to this point, you can start moving a bit faster, with some restrictions.
Step 1: Get to Venice Beach.
Step 2: Meet the Blue Crabs and go to the safe house.
Step 3: Go to the LA map on the wall indicated by the street sign icon on your map.
Step 4: Interact with the map to open the fast travel menu.
You can only fast travel to other safe houses that have one of these cards in them. Each of the game’s 10 zones has at least one fast travel point, with Venice Beach and Brentwater Sewer each having two, but you must first access each of them before they become available for fast travel.
