World Cup 2023 Points Table Today: India and South Africa clashed in the 37th match of the World Cup 2023 at the Eden Gardens Cricket Stadium in Kolkata. It was a clash of titans as two top players competed in an important match. India were riding a dominant 7-match unbeaten run and South Africa had a 6-1 record.
Fans expected a thrilling match but it was a one-sided display of India’s dominance. After winning the toss, captain Rohit Sharma decided to bat first. India posted a total of 326/5 on the scoreboard.
Virat Kohli celebrated his 35th birthday in the most amazing way. Kohli equaled his mentor Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI centuries and 79 international hundreds. Kohli remained unbeaten with 101 in 121 balls.
The Indian bowling side once again proved to be a nightmare for South Africa. Wickets came quickly after the top order collapsed. Left-arm spin was key on the Eden Gardens pitch.
Ravindra Jadeja was the star of the match, taking 5 wickets (his first five-wicket haul in a World Cup), but Virat Kohli won the Man of the Match award. South Africa were dismissed for 83 runs in 27.1 overs. India won by 243 runs and remained at the top of the points table.
