Nick comes from an Asian household and grew up expecting his parents’ approval for every major decision in his life, including marriage. Given the distance between his native people and his wife’s people, relocation will always be difficult for him. Devin, who is excited to take the next step in her relationship, is unaware of the few challenges she and Nick will face.
For the marriage to become a reality, they would have to fight for the consent of Nick’s Korean parents. It is predicted that Devin will have a hard time convincing his parents to let him move in with her.

Nick’s parents seemed worried about how they would cope without their son. Nick, however, admitted that he did not want to get married without his parents’ permission. When his parents expressed reservations about their relationship, Devin burst into tears because it was inexplicable to her. Nick, on the other hand, thought Devin’s family was “very opinionated.”
“She wanted to come back, but I couldn’t imagine living in two different countries. So we got engaged and applied for a K-1 visa,” Nick explained. He intends to move to Searcy, where he and Devin will be married in 90 days.
“When we got engaged and applied for the K-1 visa … it was all about paperwork. It wasn’t romantic at all. But I want to propose to her properly, Nick said at the premiere.
Nick and Devin met on the dating service Tinder, and the latter decided to fly alone to Sydney, Australia, to meet her boyfriend. After three weeks together, the couple felt a strong connection and knew they were meant for each other. Nick and Devin were happily engaged by the end of week three. After returning to her hometown, Devin realized that she did not want to live without Nick. He applied for a K1 visa and after two years of waiting, Nick arrived in the United States.
