How long will the chancellor stay? Hardly a day goes by without new excitement. Germany is facing much more important problems. However, the outstanding question of leadership is your answer. Commentary by Mercury Editor-in-Chief George Anastasiadis.
Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer does not “want to act on purpose,” the chancellor’s detachment. What should the poor say differently? After 14 years of statehood, Angela Merkel has reached the stage of Transformation. Even the humiliated Horst Seehofer recently praised you (again) as “the best”. This woman cannot simply be put aside. The very attempt to do so would destroy the CDU.
Germany constitutes a paralyzed leadership
And yet, the unrest that drives every word on the subject from the top of the CDU shows how the unresolved issue of leadership is currently in the nature of a political Consideration, in Berlin, superior and charged. In the debate on CO2 control, as the CDU has shown itself to be weak and disoriented. Each of these problems in itself is not a reason to panic. But overall they pose a significant potential threat, especially when combined with the inattention of key players after years of seemingly endless boom through sleepwalking land. The republic lived well for a long time from the income of Schröder’s agenda. Now politics needs to understand – that it is no longer enough to govern Germany and peacefully distribute gifts like the Grand Coalition and its chancellor since the inauguration of the new government.
It is symptomatic that Merkel avoids markets in the election campaign. But what should you preach to the people there? There are no plans in place to help the country weather the coming storm. Not about strategies on the account of the prosperity of the export world champion in an increasingly commercial world enemy, the strange, otherworldly Merkel-Republic, but about expropriation, nationalization and basic pensions, in their enjoyment by the will of the SPD, without distinction, the poor and the rich should come to discusses. And if you have money, what’s the point? Then the big tax drum started for the new CO2 – the climate will thank people’s stupid choices. Those whose business model is based on the distribution of other people’s money will never run out of ideas.
The chancellor led the country for 14 years, usually with a calm hand, well through some turbulence over his face, and the voters (until the asylum crisis) in a kind of twilight sleep. Now is the time for a wake-up call. If Angela Merkel is no longer in power, should you leave office? That would be sovereign.
