A video showing the heroism of New York police officers has warmed the hearts of countless social media users. The video shows how police officers use quick thinking to save the life of an 8-year-old blind Border Collie who found himself trapped among plants in a pond. The officers, specifically Williams and Esposito, bravely stepped in to bring the distressed dog to safety.

“After receiving a 911 call yesterday about a dog drowning in Baisley Pond, Officers Williams & Esposito of the 113 Precinct responded and entered the frigid water to rescue Sparky, an 8-year-old blind Border Collie. Thanks to the fast-moving officers, Sparky and his owner were reunited at the emergency veterinary clinic earlier today,” reads the description of the video shared on Facebook by the NYPD.
The video shows officers wading into the lake to rescue a dog in distress. Then they carefully lift him up and carry him back to safety. After wrapping the dog in a jacket, they took him to the vet for medical attention.
