Maxwell suffered from severe cramps and spasms during the game and almost had to be carried back to the stands. He couldn’t even walk to get singles.
However, Glenn Maxwell showed the heart of a warrior and persisted in scoring through the right boundaries. In the end, Australia won the match by 7 wickets and inflicted a heavy defeat on Afghanistan.
With this incredible display of cricket, Australia retained the 3rd position in the points table and qualified for the semi-finals.
