A farmer had a lucky escape from a crocodile after the reptile latched onto his leg and wouldn’t let go. According to reports, the man accidentally bit the reptile’s eyelid while trying to kick it free from its claws. “The water receded and it was all the way to this dirty water in the middle. I took two steps and, dirty f****** [the crocodile] it latched onto my right foot,” Deveraux told ABC News. “It was a real grab, he shook me like a rag doll and flew back into the water, pulling me in,” he added.

In an attempt to save his life, Deveraux began to fight back and kick the crocodile in the ribs. He also tried to bite the animal, and in that chaos his teeth got stuck in the reptile’s eyelids.

“I was in such an awkward position, but by chance, my teeth caught his eyelid. It was quite thick, like I was holding the skin, but I jerked back at his eyelid, and he let go. I jumped and flew with a large He approached the place where my car was. He chased me for a little bit, maybe four meters, but then he stopped,” Deveraux said.

After escaping, Deveraux noticed that his leg was badly injured. He used a towel and some rope to make a temporary bandage and then went to the hospital with his brother. The incident happened about a month ago and since then he has been undergoing treatment in the hospital, including a skin graft.

“It all happened in about eight seconds, I think,” he said. If he [the crocodile] if he had bitten me somewhere else, it would have been different. That means I have to change what I’m doing. I walked on that swampy land for too long, fixing fences and living life, but it opened my eyes,” he said, talking about his experience.
