Now about the event itself, which starts on Halloween night starting at 5pm local time and ends at midnight. During this spooky evening, all your villagers will dress up in costumes and Jack the Pumpkin Car will visit your island.

Your task is to visit your fellow villagers to get sweets or lollipops from them. You can only get candy from any villager wandering outside once, but you can keep asking villagers for more if they are in their homes. When you get a candy, you can give it to another villager in exchange for a lollipop or to Jack for exclusive items. You’ll want to do both since giving the villagers candy, as well as giving Jack lollipops, is the only way to get some of those exclusive Spooky Set items mentioned earlier.

Here are all the rewards you’ll want to look for on Halloween night and how to get them:

  • Jack’s Cloak: Give Jack one candy. This will also unlock Haunt Reaction.
  • Jack’s Face: Give Jack another candy.
  • Spooky Carriage: Give Jack a lollipop.
  • Spooky Carriage recipe: Give Jack another lollipop.
  • Spooky Wand Recipe: Give Jack the third lollipop.

The following items from the Spooky Item pool are obtained by giving candy to a villager, but all of them can be obtained randomly. If you don’t get what you want, you’ll have to keep trying until you do. You will also get a fear reaction after giving candy to any villagers outside of their homes.

  • Spooky Girland (and recipe)
  • Creepy table setting (and recipe)
  • Spooky floors
  • Spooky carpet
  • Spooky wall
  • Lollipop
