Instagram page WeRateDogs posted Ella’s story and a quote from her new pet mom. “This is Ella. She has been at the Animal Resource Center in Pennsylvania for the past 7 years waiting to find a forever home. A few days ago an email arrived with the subject “interested in adopting Ella”. A woman named Kaitlyn recently lost her dog, Jo, and was finally ready to get another dog,” the site wrote.

“Ella has a certain fear of aggression and usually takes a few visits to warm up to a new person, but not Kaitlyn. During their first visit, Ella immediately approached without hesitation, allowing Kaitlyn to give her scratches and pets immediately,” they added.

It turns out that after meeting Ella, Kaitlyn cried while looking at the tissue Ella was wearing. She soon explained why. “This bandana that Ella is wearing belongs to Jo. I donated them all here when he passed away,” Kaitlyn told the rescue center staff. “I like to think of it as Jo’s seal of approval.” Kaitlyn added as well. She adopted and took Ella home the same day she met the dog.
