The story isn’t that exciting, as you follow a swordsman who befriends an amnesiac, but it’s still charming and lighthearted. This is a friendship-centric character story, and while the scale isn’t as grand as some of the other Tales games, it’s still a journey worth taking.
Tales from Xillia 2 it directly follows the events of the first game, although you take control of a different protagonist. Ludger Krenik, the silent character you play, can travel between parallel dimensions to maintain balance in the world he calls home. Xillia 2 it also offers an expanded look at the cast of characters in the first game.
The extended view of the story is a bit too extended though. The game drops a lot in the middle, with a lot of backtracking and quest fetching. More, Xillia 2 it features the same combat system as the first game, with an interesting overall plot.
