news Morgan Kohan

Everyone has experienced the feeling of suddenly reverting to a previous version of themselves, for better or worse, when returning to their hometown, meeting their grandmother, or going to a high school reunion. According to Morgan Kohan, star of CTV’s latest drama SULLIVAN’S CROSSING, “Sometimes we enjoy the fact that nothing has changed, but that’s also the hardest part when nothing has changed.” It brings back memories of what you were going through at that time. Sometimes brief memories of certain events in your life can be triggered by the smell of something or the sound of a particular song playing on the radio. Everything becomes just a flood of memories and emotions. And Maggie is definitely going through that. SULLIVAN’S CROSSING stars Lauren Kohan as Maggie Sullivan and premieres Sunday, March 19 at 7:00 p.m. ET on CTV, CTV.ca and the CTV app. Maggie Sullivan returns home but she isn’t happy about it. Maggie’s life in Boston is turned upside down – she is a successful neurosurgeon whereas her estranged father Sully (played by Scott Patterson) runs a camp in Nova Scotia where she temporarily seeks refuge. Maggie’s life is further complicated by the arrival of Cal Jones (played by Chad Michael Murray), a mysterious stranger who shows up after she returns to her old haunting place under dire circumstances. Despite their initial anger towards each other, their relationship quickly improves.

As Kohan hails from Summerland, British Columbia and has worked extensively in romcoms before this show, SULLIVAN’S CROSSING perfectly complements her many talents. While she admits she hasn’t been through what Maggie went through – being forced to return home – she says she can relate to some of the pressures it brings.

“Even when I go back to visit my hometown,” said Kohan, “I’ll go to certain parts of the city, and suddenly you have this strange fear in your chest – like the last time you were there – even though you’re a completely different person at this point. It’s still so connected, and it forms the basis of who you are today and all those years. So that’s your base, that’s your core, no matter what. Maybe we all try to cover it up, hide it and act like it doesn’t exist but here you are. And I think that’s what Maggie is doing.”
