Outlook is a free web-based email service introduced by Microsoft. It’s almost identical to Gmail, but it combines Hotmail and Windows Live into one email service. You can create an Outlook email account if you don’t already have one. You will have access to some features that do not exist in other email services.

Access your email, calendar, and contacts from your smartphone or tablet on the go.
What is the difference between Outlook.com and Hotmail.com?
The Hotmail email service was launched in 1996, but was acquired by Microsoft in 1997 when the email client was called MSN Hotmail. In 2005, Hotmail was renamed Windows Live Hotmail. For years, it confused many users like when they searched for Hotmail and was directed to the Windows Live page. Outlook.com is Microsoft’s last attempt to bring all of its email services under one name. So if you want ‘hotmail.com’ or ‘live.com’ in your browser, you will be redirected to outlook.live.com, Microsoft’s current running email service.
If you still want a free Hotmail account, you can go to the link https://outlook.live.com/owa/ and use ‘hotmail.com’ as the domain name when you sign up. The rest of the steps are the same and you will get the same features as the free Outlook email account.
