News of Hong Kong’s plan to give away around 5,000,000 free flights was a big hit, but people didn’t know how to do it. Here’s the information you need to know.
So here it is. Hong Kong is willing to give away 500,000 free flights, and Americans can sign up for the same. Only one airline will make all this possible. The airline is Cathey Pacific. Flights will begin May 17 at 8:00 PM ET. All travelers who want a free round-trip flight to Hong Kong should try to book through the airline’s website and with luck you can travel without spending a dime (note that fees, surcharges and taxes are not included).
It is said that the purpose of this donation is to boost tourism in Hong Kong by 2023. Details of the donation were presented by John Lee Ka-Chiu, leader of Hong Kong, in February 2 of this year. This was done as part of the famous “Hello Hong Kong” campaign.

Europe
Let’s talk about Europe first. In case you are a tourist from Europe and the UK, it may be too late for you now as the giveaway has ended. Participants must register to purchase tickets on the Cathay Pacific website and complete a quiz. Free tickets will be awarded to those who answer the question correctly. This will be done on a first come, first served basis.

Asia
The sweepstakes are not open to visitors from Southeast Asia. However, if you are in Seoul, you can still apply until the end of June. Those from Japan and Taiwan who want to travel for free will be able to apply from June to July.
Some tickets were distributed to passengers belonging to China. In case you are from Hong Kong and want a round trip, you only need to register in July.
North America
Starting to receive tickets from May 17, passengers from Canada and the US who want to travel for free can register with Cathay Pacific. Gifts for Canada begin at 6:00 PM PST/R PM EST. For the US, giveaways start at 5:00pm PST/8:00pm EST. The application period ends on May 24.
New Zealand and Australia
For travelers from New Zealand and Australia, the giveaway will begin on May 29.
